Every animal deserves to be seen — not forgotten.
Wish Upon a Star is our adoption program created to support animals who have been in our care for six months or longer. These animals are not less lovable or less adoptable; they simply need more time, the right environment, or the right person to find them.
When an animal reaches the six-month mark, they are automatically enrolled in Wish Upon a Star and become eligible for half-price adoption fees.

Animals in long-term care are statistically more likely to be overlooked, even when they are healthy, loving, and well-adjusted. Extended stays can increase stress and reduce visibility, despite the best foster or shelter care.
Wish Upon a Star was developed after a successful six-week pilot that resulted in a significant increase in adoptions for long-waiting animals — particularly small animals and those traditionally considered harder to place. Based on this success, the program was made permanent.
