Mending Spirits deeply cares and it is our duty to protect our volunteers, fosters, adopters, and the community. With the unfolding of the COVID-19 virus and the current order, we will be in full compliance with this order. As an essential critical service organization, we have created an adaptive Safety Plan to maintain safety with our ever-changing pandemic situation. In-person activities will be greatly minimized and facilitate safe distancing safety protocols.

- All people who exhibit any form of illness are required to cancel any activities and eliminate interpersonal contact with MSAR volunteers, professionals and anyone in the community as directed by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
- All people are required to practice effective hand washing and sanitizing their hands as directed by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) this is required before and after any contact of any kind occurs.
- All people must follow the guidance suggested as directed by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of when to wear a mask, face covering or face shield during all in-person activities both indoors and outdoors.
- All items crossing between people and animals should be sanitized before exchanging between people and on a regular basis.
- All home visits will be conducted virtually until further notice effective 3/15/20.
- ALL meet & greets shall now take place outdoors and or in a manner that facilitates 6-foot distances between people. Small animals must remain in their cage or in a secured outdoor space. Felines must be in a wire crate and or on a leash with a non-slip martingale collar.
- Foster Providers only-please abstain from having other members of your household attend meet and greets. Only one adult from your home should be present.
- All intakes and vetting appointments (in-house or otherwise) will contain less than 10 individuals and adhere to the 6-foot distancing of others.
- Intake staff will 1-1 assist foster families with the transfer of an animal and adhere to 6-ft distancing.
- Supply pick up will take place outside of the supply location.
- We can only shift animals in care amongst our fostering team if an emergency occurs to warrant an exchange of care.
- MSAR will provide food to those in need but cannot do in-person exchanges. Food donations will be scheduled as drop off only and available while supplies last.
- All meetings/in-person trainings will take place either virtually or in a manner that enables 6ft distancing of others.
