Surrendering
Animals come to us for a variety of reasons.
We are 100% foster based and the more details you share with us, the more successful we are at safely placing them with the right foster home and to succeed at getting them moved into a forever adopted home. MSAR is not a boarding facility, we cannot board animals.
If you are having behavior problems with your pet and are interested in trying to work through it...
We encourage you to read through our Pet Behavior Library or consult with a professional trainer. MSAR offers supportive services to all our alumni. We are here to assist you in keeping your pet but we do understand that sometimes it's just not a good fit.*DOGS ONLY- Video footage of your dog interacting with other dogs is required prior to admission into the program. (Young puppies are exempt from this requirement)
If you are in need of surrendering, please fill out the application below.
While there is no surrender fee, a free will donation to help towards animals cared is greatly appreciated. Once we have received your surrender form, we will contact you for more information and will let you know if we have a place for your pet to go or not. Please be patient, honest and provide accurate in-depth info. We understand the stress of needing to surrender a pet and will work with you the best that we can.
Please be prepared to submit all vetting records & a quality photo of your animal once a Foster Coordinator emails you.
Stray animals are not expected to be vetted, but it would be appreciated.
Owned animals that are being surrendered, are expected to have a current rabies vaccination and the surrendering family must submit that certificate before we can transfer into custody. Exceptions to this rule will be made on a case by case basis.
Animals residing outside of Minnesota MUST have a valid health certificate before we can transfer into custody and submit the animals certificate before we can transfer into custody.
