VETTING:
All dogs/cats are fully vetted through our partner clinics & will not be adopted prior to being spayed/neutered, microchipped, given preventatives: species, season & age-specific, vaccinated & tested.
Spayed/Neutered: All dogs/cats will be altered prior to adoption, NO EXCEPTIONS. Puppies must be 8 weeks of age to be spayed/neutered. Kittens must be 8 weeks of age & weigh 2 lbs to be spayed or neutered. Birds, reptiles, female rabbits, exotic animals, & small rodents are not altered.
Tested: (dogs heartworm 12+months months of age & cats FeLV tested at 6+ months of age).
Vaccines: Core vaccines will be administered & age-appropriate to the day the adoption contract is signed & payment is made in full.
Preventatives: All animals are given dewormer & heartworm preventative (species, season and age-specific) while in foster care.
Bio Descriptions: Are written for each animal & completed by the foster provider. The bio is established from medical records & direct observations from the foster provider while in care. We cannot guarantee the animal's behavior outside the observed environment.
Adoption Fees: Are based on the animal's age & health. Fee will be listed with bio description.
Many Of Our Animals Are Mixed Breeds:
Our staff, the shelter staff where they come from, & a veterinarian, all might have a difference of opinion about the breed. We make our best guess but CANNOT guarantee breed.
- Search adoptable animals & complete application.
- Application Processing Team will review/process application, conduct background screening & contact vet/personal references.
- Foster provider schedules a “meet & greet" with applicant. Resident dogs & ALL people (including children) living or frequently visiting the applicant's home are REQUIRED to attend the meet & greet.
- If the foster provider & adopter agree to move forward, a home visit will be scheduled. Long-distance adopters can request home visit prior to meet & greet to avoid multiple trips.
- After the home visit is approved, payment & adoption contract will be completed. You will receive your contract via e-mail from DocuSign & your invoice via e-mail from PayPal. PayPal can be paid by credit, debit or PayPal account (you do NOT need a PayPal account).
- Once payment, adoption contract, & age-appropriate vetting are complete, the new owners can pick up their pet! Adopters are required to bring their own leash & collar at pick-up.
